Writing notes
Every note is a .md file in your workspace folder. Tsuzuri never adds a
database, hidden index or special format: what you see in the editor is exactly
what’s on disk.
The editor is modal.
- NORMAL mode moves around and edits text: h j k l, w / b, dd, yy, p and more.
- INSERT mode types text. Enter it with i, a, A, I, o or O; leave with Esc.
The mouse works too: click to place the cursor, drag to select (the selection is copied automatically) and scroll any pane with the wheel.
New notes open as unsaved tabs, like a scratch buffer. Switch tabs with [ and ], or Space Tab; close one with Space x. Clicking a tab works as well.
Pages inside pages
Section titled “Pages inside pages”Choose Page in the / block menu, or press a in the explorer, to create a sub-note nested under the current one. Nest notes as deeply as you like. Link to page inserts a link to any existing note.
Saving
Section titled “Saving”| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Save | Ctrl+S or :w |
| Save under a new name | :w name or :saveas |
| Save and quit | :wq or :x |
| Quit without saving | :q! |
Quitting with unsaved changes always asks first.
The explorer
Section titled “The explorer”Ctrl+B toggles the file tree and Tab moves focus between panes. In the tree, n creates a note, r renames and d deletes (after asking).
